Let’s first define what a Keyplan is:

“A small-scale plan of a group of apartments or offices indicating their location within an entire floor.”

They are helpful, if not essential, for the client and other users browsing the plans to quickly understand which part of the building is shown in each section.

When we design a Keyplan, depending on the need of the project, in that same “layout”, it can be visualized, for example, if the unit has a view to the sea, the city or the mountain. In this way, buyers understand what the view of their future home will be.

They can also understand if the apartment is close to elevators and stairs or how many “neighbors” there will be on the same floor.

Keyplans designed on typical 2D architectural plans are not “visual” or “understandable” enough for any buyer. It is easier, with people who do not come from the world of architecture, to teach them the keyplan in an interactive 3D visualization… And, if we add furniture and interior decoration, even better!

In which cases is it convenient to use Keyplans in projects?

Probably when the project has several apartments per floor. At hauzd we suggest using Keyplans when there are more than 4 apartments per floor since it is easier for the buyer to read.

For example, CENTRICO is a residential project in Mexico (developed by FRASA Desarrollos) in which there are 6 apartments per floor and it has been decided to implement keyplans to make it easier for buyers to see and understand.

In this case, even, the keyplans have designed furniture (rendered floor plan), so this also helps to show the buyer what the distribution is like in that apartment BEFORE entering to explore it “individually”.

To summarize:

Keyplans displayed interactively are super important for buyers in order to:

√ Quickly identify where the apartment is located in the tower

√ Understand how many more apartments will be on the same floor

√ Know what views the apartment will have: to the mountains, city, sea…

√ Understand if the apartment is near the elevator and stairs

And, above all, to provide the best property buying experience!
